Many of you have told me that you are not looking forward to the overwhelming coverage of the Olympics every time you turn on your television. Some of you have also expressed concerns about the effect it will have on our local road and rail networks. There will, of course, be those with opposing views and others who would be content to watch an evening TV summary at home or in their hotel bedroom.

Margaret and I drove more than 1200 miles in August staying overnight in nine hotels we haven’t used before. We rejected one that was unacceptable but all the others were very pleasing for a variety of reasons. Furthermore, we met some really dedicated hotel staff who convinced us they will enjoy having us to stay. Some locations were quite exceptional. My membership of the Institute of Hospitality is proving helpful in winning the respect of the more dedicated hotelier.
Please note: Although Best Western Hotel properties belong to one marketing organisation, they are all privately owned.
I am keen to back our national economy by encouraging everybody to show more interest in what Britain has to offer. Please don’t lose sight of the fact that I will not offer you anything I wouldn’t buy myself, nor will I take you anywhere you’re unlikely to enjoy. If in doubt, ask for more information. We will always be open and honest with you.
Our holiday feedback reports have indicated an increase in customer satisfaction since we changed to Rayleigh Roadways two years ago. Twenty six years old Andrew was a finalist in 2011Coach Driver of the Year. His father, Kevin, also drives for us.
